Betting sites have slashed Manchester City’s relegation odds to just 3/1 following reports the club have been found guilty of the majority of their 115 charges for breaking the Premier League’s financial rules.

City were charged with the breaches in 2023 and the subsequent court case has been one of the most significant in the history of the sport.

Reports suggest that City will be found guilty on 114 of the 115 charges, though a verdict has not officially been delivered and the club will no doubt appeal the final ruling.

Nevertheless, speculation surrounding the potential punishments has heightened, with stripped titles, a transfer ban and even relegation all possible sanctions.

Football bookmakers have reacted accordingly and had already put a short price on City being relegated before the latest developments, with some bookies having gone as short as 14/1 for them to go down this season during the early stages of the season.

That said, the timeframe for appeals and final sanctions could well extend beyond the end of this season, with current odds on betting apps only applying to the 2026/27 campaign.

City’s Premier League title odds have simultaneously drifted out to 9/4 from 5/4 with Bet365, with the looming threat of a points deduction also impacting other betting markets.

City were as long as 25/1 to be relegated with some Premier League bookmakers before the start of the 2026/27 season, with the court case around their charges entering its second year.
